The pickup truck has, for a long time, held a reputation associated with machismo and ruggedness with so many people from around the country clamoring for that lifted, “tricked-out” pickup that they can show off to their friends. However, here at Bob Bell Chevrolet, we know many of our customers and they’re looking more towards function rather than fashion. People like you need something that gets the job done, above all else, which is why Chevrolet has a truck just for you: the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The Chevy Silverado 1500 is known for, above all else, its capability, durability and, most importantly, it’s versatility. With over eight different trim levels, three cabs, three cargo boxes and four different engines to choose from, there’s virtually no wrong answer to how you can configure your truck to work for you.

Lots of Powertrain, No Matter Which Engine!

A lot of people buy a pickup truck because of where a lot of the action happens: under the hood. There are three different options that you have when it comes to your truck’s engine, each one of them commands a great deal of powertrain and capability. First and foremost, there’s the 4.3-liter, 285 horsepower EcoTec3 V6 with variable valve timing (VVT), which is standard on the base Work Truck, LS and LT trims. The 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 engine generates 305 pound-feet of engine torque and gives the Silverado 1500 the ability to tow up to 7,600 pounds with a carrying payload of 1,880 pounds. Next up, there’s the 5.3-liter, 355 horsepower EcoTec3 V8 engine with VVT, which is available on the LT Z71/Custom trim levels and standard on the LTZ, LTZ Z71, and High Country trim levels. This engine allows your Silverado to tow up to 8,600 pounds with a maximum payload of 1,870 pounds; both this V8 and the 4.3-liter V6 engine are FlexFuel compatible.

Finally, there’s the 6.2-liter, 420 horsepower EcoTec3 V8 engine with VVT, which generates 460 pound-feet of engine torque and gives your Silverado 1500 a 11,800-pound towing capacity and a payload capacity of 7,200 pounds. The 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine is available on the LTZ, LTZ Z71 and High Country trim levels.
